The Nissan Z car is part of a wave of Japanese performance that inspired a whole generation. And for the past few years, the fifth generation Z has been rebuilding its legacy as the proper sports car for everyman. With relatively compact dimensions, rear-wheel drive, two seats, a muscular engine and sharp handling, it provides an excellent platform for driver enjoyment at a price that the average person can afford. This one-owner, immaculately maintained 2005 350Z Touring combines everyday reliability with an excellent driving experience. If you're in the market for something that's fast, reliable, comfortable, stylish and modern, this roadster has it all!

Looking low, wide, and sinister in Nissan's mirror-like Daytona Blue, this 350Z has the classic proportions of four generations of Z-cars with cutting edge styling and tailored details which give it a fresh and youthful vibe. And with just 21,345 miles of weekend driving on its soft glow odometer, it has to be one of the best kept, showroom fresh Nissan sports cars on the planet. Its aerodynamic body is covered in a glossy clearcoat shell that has been paint corrected and Ceramic Coated giving in a luster that exceeds your wildest expectations. Its panel gaps are, in typical new car fashion, incredibly precise. Its paint is free of the heavy orange peel and thin spots you see in other production metal of the same vintage. And overall, the car has led a pampered life which included sunny show days and warm weekend road trips as its only outings.

At the front of the car, a chrome, perfectly centered Nissan badge sits between a bold, traditional Z-car grille that's detailed with gray horizontal slats, intricately detailed projector beam headlights and clear, vertical parking lamps. Above those headlights, a sculpted hood flows onto flared fenders which emphasize the width of the car and hint at a tried and true wide body motorsports look. And pristine factory glass combines with a crystal clear CHMSL to frame both a “Z” branded windscreen and a high quality black canvas top. At the sides of the car, sculpted panels which feature moderate tumblehome are accented by wind tunnel tested mirrors, vertical silver door handles and pristine round, satin finished “Z” emblems. And at the back of the car, stretched LED tail lights, which complete an aerodynamic arc that emphasizes a wide rear track, flank a second chrome “Nissan” emblem, a driver's side “350Z” script, clear, horizontal reverse lamps and spotless stainless exhaust tips.

As for the engine, Nissan's goal wasn't to build a drag strip terror. Instead, they wanted to create a complete package which utilizes the cars high tech chassis to make every one of those 287 horses noticeable and effective. As a result, this 350Z is a durable and reliable dance partner which, despite its broad torque curve, isn't so high strung that you need to worry about hurting it at the track or during an afternoon of spirited driving. Take a peek under this car's glossy hood and the first thing you'll notice is an attractive silver engine cover which centers a Nissan logo below chrome letters for the engines size and configuration. The second thing you'll notice is a spotless engine bay that, based on appearance, hasn't seen any inclement weather since it rolled out of Nissan's Tochigi, Tochigi, Japan factory. Bright plated parts remain shiny, the plastic is undamaged by heat or wear, and there's absolutely no evidence of leakage or damage anywhere. I would almost go so far as to say that this slick powerplant is as good as new despite its gentle 21,345 miles.

Open the door and cross over a silver “Z” branded sill plate into the cars exceptionally grippy heated and perforated leather seats which, thanks to their light grey hue, add a very cool contrast to a mostly monochromatic cockpit. In front of you, the dash features a silver trimmed, highly detailed trio of gauges which include a speedometer, a tachometer and a combination fuel and temperature gauge. At your right, auxiliary gauges atop the center stack remind you of this cars legendary 240Z pedigree while a Bose premium audio system, located just below those gauges, reminds you of how far we've come since the 240Z. That audio system bumps beats through massive speakers which ride below ergonomic storage compartments and a thoughtful accessory jack that are located behind the seats. And all of the Z's standard features, from air conditioning and cruise control, to power windows, power seats and a small trunk are included in a cockpit which features excellent carpets, like-new silver trimmed door panels and contact surfaces that display minimal wear. Connecting the driver to the road is a handsome 3 spoke steering wheel which spins silver trim around a “Z” branded horn button, and a silver trimmed 5-speed automatic transmission console shifter which rounds out the highlights.

Immaculately maintained, this Nissan 350Z Touring excels on twisty two-lanes where its capabilities can be fully exploited and skilled drivers can probe its insanely high limits that make even average drivers look like heroes. Everyone recognizes these cars as something special and they're almost as much fun to show off as they are to drive!
